Stonework Behind and Under Stove - January 28 - February 3, 2004The stone behind the woodstove is custom made right here in Kanawha County, West Virginia, by Blue Creek Masonry (who is also our builder - more information will be posted about this company in our vendor review section). The airspace behind the heat shield is 1.5 inches, the DuRock is .5 inches, and the stone is 1.5 inches. Adding DuRock and Frame to Wall - January 28, 2004 Adding Stone to DuRock - January 29, 2004 Adding Mortar Between Stones - January 30, 2004 Stonework After Drying One Day - January 31, 2004 Hearth Constructed and Stone Added to Sides - February 2, 2004 Stone Added to Top of Hearth - February 3, 2004 (We forgot to get a photo before the stove was added.) Woodstove - January 22 - March ??, 2004We chose to use a Hearthstone soapstone woodstove because of their unique heating abilities. The stove was delivered January 22, 2004, and was placed on the hearth February 20. |
